Refund Policy

Overview
Private-i reports are custom research products. Each report requires real work: we query public records, licensing databases, court filings, and review sources specific to the contractor you submitted. Because of this, our refund policy is narrow but clearly defined. Please read it before purchasing.
When You Are Entitled to a Full Refund
You are eligible for a full refund in the following situations:
- Report not delivered. If your report is not delivered within 5 business days of your order and we have not contacted you with an explanation, you may request a full refund.
- Duplicate charge. If you were charged more than once for the same order due to a payment processing error, the duplicate charge will be refunded immediately upon verification.
- Contractor could not be researched. In rare cases, a contractor may have no verifiable public footprint (no license filings, no business registration, no court records, and no reviews). If this occurs, we will notify you and offer either a full refund or credit toward a different contractor search.
When Refunds Are Not Available
We do not issue refunds in the following situations:
- You received the report and disagree with the findings, score, or conclusions.
- The contractor passed our vetting process and you expected a different outcome.
- You changed your mind about hiring the contractor after receiving the report.
- You provided an incorrect contractor name, city, or state at intake and the report was produced based on the information you submitted.
- The report contains public information you could have found on your own.
Private-i reports are research products, not predictions or guarantees. A favorable score does not guarantee contractor performance, and an unfavorable score does not guarantee problems. Disagreeing with a conclusion is not grounds for a refund.
Multi-Report Packages
If you purchased a 3-pack or 5-pack bundle, unused credits are non-refundable once any report in the bundle has been delivered. If no reports have been delivered yet, you may request a full refund within 48 hours of purchase.
How to Request a Refund
Email us at info@privateicontractorvetting.com with your order confirmation number and a brief description of the issue. We respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically process within 5 to 10 business days depending on your card issuer.
